Maputo, 15 March 2021 - Banco Único is proud to announce the selection of Joel Rodrigues as the new Managing Director (MD).
Joel Rodrigues has extensive professional experience in the Financial Sector. Master in Economics with a specialization in Finance from the Nova School of Business and Economics of Lisbon concluded in 2018 the Senior Executive Leadership Program of Harvard Business School.
He joined Banco BIG Portugal's Corporate Finance team in early 2008, having participated in several financial advisory projects, mergers and acquisitions, private equity and Capital Market operations.
In 2015, he was responsible for the implementation process of Banco BIG in Mozambique, developing executive business management skills and multidisciplinary teams in several areas of banking activity, namely in Investment Banking, Institutional Banking, Banking specializing in the area of savings and investment, Accounting, Compliance / Regulation, Planning and Control, Risk Management and AML.
Under his leadership, Banco BIG Mozambique became, in a short space of time, one of the most profitable banks in the sector, having built up a relevant presence in Investment Banking, namely in the capital markets and financial advisory.
